From a 40-year career in international trucking to professional photography, Lee Tombling has built a business that combines creative talent, traditional values and a commitment to first-class customer service.
Innervision Global is delighted to announce Lee Tombling of Lee Tombling Photography as the recipient of the Pinnacle of Success Award – Multi Talented Photography 2026 UK, recognising his versatility, dedication to photography and personal approach to client service.
Lee’s journey into photography began during his 40-year career as a long-distance truck driver, travelling extensively throughout Europe and Eastern Europe. His work took him across France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Greece, Macedonia, Turkey, Kosovo and Holland, operating various types of heavy goods vehicles. He also worked in motorsport, transporting race cars to circuits in specialist trucks, where he regularly took his camera along to capture photographs.
Having earned the nickname “The Number 1” among fellow truck drivers, Lee established a reputation for his driving abilities and experience.

However, knowing he could not remain behind the wheel forever, he began considering photography as a future career. He enrolled in college to study photography, later completing advanced photography and editing courses before beginning to photograph motorsport events, charity occasions, landscapes and portraits.
Although Lee had enjoyed photography for more than four decades, it was his daughter Heather who encouraged him to explore wedding photography.
“Dad, your photography is brilliant, you should do weddings,” she told him.
After being asked to photograph a family wedding, Lee began receiving further opportunities, with one booking leading to another. He has now been working in professional wedding photography for approximately three years, bringing the same dedication and professionalism that defined his years in the transport industry.
As he developed his business, Lee became increasingly aware of the challenges couples face when choosing a wedding photographer. With varying levels of training and experience across the industry, he wanted to provide a service that placed greater importance on professionalism, communication and customer care.
Rather than relying on virtual consultations, Lee prefers to meet his clients in person over coffee and cake, taking the time to discuss their wedding plans and understand what they hope to achieve. Couples receive a personalised wedding planning diary embossed with their names and wedding date, helping them organise their special day while providing an early keepsake of their wedding journey.
His service also includes ongoing WhatsApp support, allowing clients to contact him with questions throughout the planning process.
Recognising that many photographers now provide only online galleries, Lee wanted to offer something more tangible, creating a personalised photo book for couples to treasure long after their wedding.
On the wedding day, he provides 30 fully edited sneak-peek photographs directly to the couple’s phones while they are still celebrating, followed by delivery of their completed wedding photography within 14 days. Before leaving the celebration, Lee also presents the newlyweds with a honeymoon journal and glue stick to help preserve memories from their travels. A wedding video set to the couple’s first dance song provides another personal addition to his service.
These thoughtful touches reflect Lee’s belief that wedding photography should extend beyond simply taking pictures. His approach is built around providing a complete experience, from the first consultation through to the delivery of lasting keepsakes.
While technology continues to advance, Lee has chosen to continue using a camera that is approximately 19 years old. He believes its photographic qualities are difficult to replicate with newer equipment and that working with it requires greater reliance on his technical skills and artistic judgement. For Lee, the ability to capture a meaningful image comes from the photographer’s experience and creative eye rather than the latest technology.
His professional approach is also influenced by the personal values he has maintained throughout his life. Having travelled extensively and encountered people from different backgrounds during his trucking career, Lee places particular importance on honour, kindness and treating others with respect.
When asked which personal values have contributed to his business, Lee explained:
“Well yes, I would say the code I live by, it’s called honour. Some would call chivalry. Real men live by a code of honour. To be a gentleman at all times, it never goes out of fashion.”
Proud of his family heritage, which includes an ancestor who was a knight, Lee believes that chivalry and traditional values still have an important place in everyday life and business. He aims to reflect these principles through honest communication, genuine care and a commitment to putting his clients’ interests first.
The Innervision Global judging panel recognised Lee’s dedication to professional photography, exceptional client service and commitment to maintaining high standards within the industry. His positive client reviews and testimonials, attention to detail and determination to provide a more personal photographic experience were among the key factors contributing to his selection.
His journey from international transport to photography demonstrates a willingness to develop new skills and pursue a different professional direction while drawing on the experience gained throughout his working life.
Today, Lee Tombling Photography continues to focus on creating meaningful photographs and providing a service that clients can trust. With a background built on years of hard work and travelling across Europe, Lee’s commitment to going the extra mile remains central to the way he approaches his photography business.
For those looking for professional photography with a personal touch, Lee Tombling Photography offers a dedicated service built on creativity, experience and first-class customer care.
