West Midlands early years leader recognised for her commitment to inclusive education, social equity, sustainability and creating an environment where every child has the opportunity to flourish.
Shabnum Bi of Early Nurture Pre-School has been named the recipient of the Client Service Excellence Award in Early Years Educator 2026, recognising her dedication to creating an inclusive, nurturing and forward-thinking early years environment that places the wellbeing and development of every child at its heart.
Based in the West Midlands, Early Nurture Pre-School was launched by Shabnum in December 2022 with a clear vision: to create a setting where children can thrive socially and emotionally, regardless of their circumstances or background.

Operating from the junior site of Anglesey Primary School, the independent pre-school was formerly known as Anglesey Playgroup before restructuring and rebranding under the same experienced leadership. Today, Early Nurture Pre-School is building on that foundation with an approach centred on Inclusive Practice, Care, Embrace and Early Intervention.
These four core values underpin the work of its professional team, helping to create a loving and caring environment where children feel valued, understood and supported. Emotional wellbeing and joy are also embedded throughout the carefully planned curriculum, recognising that a positive early childhood experience can have an important influence far beyond the pre-school years.
At the centre of Shabnum’s work is a long-term commitment to raising awareness of the importance of the first five years of life and the role early childhood experiences can play in shaping children’s futures.
Her vision extends beyond education alone. Early Nurture Pre-School operates with a strong commitment to social justice, with fully subsidised places available for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Its approach is guided by three pillars: economic prosperity, social equity and environmental integrity, reflecting a belief that quality early years education should contribute positively to children, families and the wider community.
Sustainability is another important part of the pre-school’s long-term strategy. With dedicated leadership for sustainability, Early Nurture Pre-School is working to embed environmental responsibility alongside educational excellence and social justice, encouraging children to understand and embrace the world around them from an early age.
The ambition is to create not simply a place for children to learn, but a community and culture in which they can flourish.
Through early intervention, inclusive practice and compassionate support, Shabnum and her team aim to ensure that individual circumstances do not prevent children from receiving the foundations they need to develop with confidence.
This wider vision is what continues to distinguish Early Nurture Pre-School. By combining thoughtful early intervention with strong relationships, community values and a commitment to fairness, the setting is working to ensure that children are not only prepared for the next stage of education, but also supported to develop confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.
Shabnum’s leadership reflects a belief that the earliest years should be treated as a vital stage of life in their own right. Her approach places equal importance on emotional development, inclusion and opportunity, recognising that meaningful support during these formative years can have a lasting impact on children and their families.
The pre-school’s social justice model further strengthens this commitment, helping to make high-quality early years provision accessible to families who may otherwise face barriers. Alongside this, its sustainability focus introduces children to ideas around responsibility, community and caring for the environment in ways that are relevant to their everyday experiences.
As Early Nurture Pre-School continues to develop, its long-term strategy remains centred on creating a nurturing culture where children are encouraged to explore, connect and grow. The setting’s work demonstrates how early years education can bring together learning, wellbeing, inclusion and sustainability within one cohesive approach.
The Client Service Excellence Award in Early Years Educator 2026 celebrates Shabnum’s contribution to this mission and the values that continue to shape Early Nurture Pre-School.
With an exciting journey ahead, Shabnum remains passionate about growing young minds for a greener future, while demonstrating how sustainability, social justice, inclusion and educational excellence can work together within the early years sector.
